Italian Pronouns

November 19, 2013 By Thauna - Leave a Comment

Italian_NotesOK, I admit it…after 4 rounds of beginning classes and hours listening to various Italian learning, I still forget my Italians pronouns. Or maybe it is just that I doubt myself. I second guess my memory. All the time.

I have “io” down and “lui/lei.” But I forget “tu” and I confuse “noi/voi” all the time.

Please tell me I’m not alone here!  (I blame it on age and a limited amount of time to study.)

So I have note or flash cards scattered across my desk. When I find myself forgetting something basic I write it down, again.

Or when I find a cool, new phrase or word.

Italian Pronouns – the basic 6

Io = I
EEo

Tu = you (informal)
TWOO

lui/lei/Lei = he / she / you formal (notice the capitalization)
LOUee / LAY / LAY

Noi = we
NOay

Voi = you all (plural)
VOay

Loro = they
LORo (last o is a long o)

Noi seems to be the one I forget most often so I’m going to practice sentences that begin with “noi.” It’s kind of strange that I have such a problem with it because my favorite verb form is the “noi” form. Noi mangiamo. (we eat) I just love the sound of the “iamo” form of most any word.
