Today I set some new goals for my Italian learning with my awesome friend Cher. My Italian learning has stalled out a bit (again) and there is nothing better than a good goal setting session with a friend that you have to be accountable to and making a solid plan.
I’ve realized that my biggest stumbling block is me, of course. haha! I don’t trust my memory and I worry about my pronunciation. A lot! Combine that with inconsistency and you have ME, still stuck in Beginner world.
Goal number 1: practice consistency and touch the language every day. I have a created a schedule that ranges from active studying to watching movies so practice my listening skills.
My goal for one year from now is to have dinner with an Italian friend and talk completely in Italian for the entire dinner conversation. I have smaller goals for every 3 months to get me there.
The ultimate goal is to live in Italy for a few months a year and be able to have conversations with beautiful Italian people.
Prometto is one of my new favorite words.
Promottere = to promise
Prometto di studiare il mio Italiano ogni giorno. (I promise to study my Italian every day)
Wish me luck and come back here occasionally to keep me accountable. 🙂
Oh and you can also benefit from Cher’s awesomeness by checking out The Iceberg Project and listening to her podcast, 30 Minute Italian. She rocks!
Yay! I’m so excited to see where this takes you. :]
I’m pretty excited too! I am going to translate a kindergarten reading book now. 🙂 Baby steps.
